SUAI has always been participating in major projects and is now engaged in import substitution for the development of the space industry in Russia. For example, the university designs function blocks for microprocessors, creates port and transport protocol controllers, routers and network bridges, develops hardware and software systems for design, testing and modeling.
Now, having the license, SUAI has the right to develop and manufacture an electronic component base - the electronics that helps in the creation of space devices. The University can also provide services for receiving and primary processing the information from Earth remote sensing satellites.
— The license will improve the status of the university as a whole and its major area of study: Aerospace. We are consistently working on being not only a research university, and we are taking an important step towards creating the Aerospace R&D Competence Center. Any applied activity in the field of study of Space requires a license from ROSCOSMOS. SUAI can now be a full participant in experimental design developments, and can also expand its activities for receiving and primary processing of data from Earth remote sensing satellites," said Alexey Syshchikov, Deputy Director of SUAI Institute of High-Performance Computer and Network Technologies.
