A week of artificial intelligence at Polotsk State University
This week Vice-Rector for the Development of the GUAP University Complex, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of International Entrepreneurship Galina Peshkova together with Grigory Plotnikov, an Assistant of the Department of Business Informatics and Management at the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law Technologies, conducted a Week of Artificial Intelligence for Polotsk students.
Classes in the format of lectures and lab sessions, organized for students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Information Technology of PSU, were held in accordance with the state program Education and Youth Policy in force in the Republic of Belarus. Within the framework of this program universities exchange specialists of the highest level under the Visiting Professor program.
The first Vice-rector of PSU Oksana Golubeva noted that joint classes with GUAP have started in a remote format a few weeks ago and wished to the students and the delegation of St. Petersburg a fruitful work.
The topics of the lectures were artificial intelligence, neural networks and machine learning. As well students discussed the use of artificial intelligence in the work of customs authorities and the prospects for the development of artificial intelligence in the future. The lab sessions were devoted to the construction and training of a neural network, the solution of the forecasting using artificial intelligence problem, the correlation problem using a neural network.
– I am grateful to the PSU for the invitation. During the round table GUAP - PSU: Joint Program for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies, we discussed the creation of a joint textbook on artificial intelligence for students of technical and humanitarian specialties, as well as the upcoming business game Point of Growth, where PSU students will participate again. I’d like to mention that it is very pleasant and valuable to receive positive feedback about the GUAP-PSU 2022 Summer School. GUAP representatives will participate in the forum on artificial intelligence in Minsk in 2023. Following the results of the round table, a further strategy of cooperation between GUAP and PSU was developed, - said Galina Peshkova, Vice–Rector of GUAP.
The work of the delegation of SUAI within the walls of the Belarusian university has become an excellent continuation of the action plan for the interaction of GUAP and PSU, and there are still a lot of common projects ahead.
